That’s a big headline isn’t it?
Have you ever read a book and realized 1 month later that you remember almost nothing?
It happened to me many times…
This can be very frustrating particularly for how-to books, education materials and other related resources like video seminars and teleseminars.
You may be thinking:
“Karolos, are you stupid? Why don’t you take notes!!!”
Well, my friend I take notes… I also use underlining and mental notes
The thing is that all of these ways are unproductive and ineffective and the I’ll explain the reason in a few seconds.
Have you ever read how our mind works. This ultra-complicated super-computer upstairs is basically a HUGE neural network. Memories and ideas and symbols… all get organized and stored by neuron intra-connections (synapse).
So @$#^&** what?
It was found that our learning ability can be greatly enhanced if we imitate this network. Instead of writing a summary, or a bullet list or some notes it is better to write down small pieces of information and connect everything together with logical lines.
This looks exactly like a network and it’s called a mind map!
I’ve been using mind maps for some time and I’m very happy with the results.
There are a lot of programs for mind maps but I strongly recommend you check out a free popular one called Freemind. Freemind is cross-platform and supports exporting to many formats like XML and PDF.
You can find more information at the Freemind website.
I would like to read your comments…

Hi Karolos
It’s glad to see that mind mapping has one more fans. If possible, I would like you take a look at another great award open source mind mapping software, XMind.
XMind is a cross platform software, and has 5 language version.(English, Simplify Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, German)
Sincerely!
