Most of the junk food we eat every day, processed foods and drinks as well as the modern ways of living through stress, deadlines, fear because of financial instability and so on, makes your body function worse and also hurts your immune system.
All this sh$t food can imbalance your natural body pH levels. Most time your pH lowers and your body gets acidic, which is really bad for everything related to your immune system and normal body functions.
So do you want a list of these foods? Here it is (taken by http://naturalmedicine.suite101.com/article.cfm/acid_alkali_balance):
Acid-forming or Acid-ash Foods & Substances: AVOID
- Sugar
- Artificial sweeteners
- Sweet foods
- Coffee
- Tea (black, green)
- Juice
- Pop
- Alcohol
- Vinegar
- Meat, cheese, animal products
- Antibiotics, pharmaceutical drugs
Acid-binding or Alkali-ash Foods & Substances: INCREASE
- Lemons, limes
- Apple Cider Vinegar (the exception)
- Soy and tofu
- Avocado
- Most vegetables and vegetable juices
- Most spices and essential oils
What can you do?
For starters try to manage your time and stress levels (there are many resources for this subject if you look around).
Then start making wiser food choices. Minimize processed foods like ready meals, fast food, carbonated beverages and so on. If you eat sth that makes your body more acidic balance it with sth that makes it more alcalic.
For example green tea with lemon, spiced meat with salad, and so on…
Increase the fruits, nuts and vegetables you need. Lemon has a great pH balancing effect so you can drink some nice fresh lemon juice with a spoon of honey stirred to make it more palatable.
Some Useful Tools
In order to help your immune system you will need high quality protein (building blocks for enzymes and antibodies). Protein from meat (white meat preferably), fish, eggs and soy (non-GMO!!!!).
If you want to buy a supplement to improve your immune system you can start by looking for some glutamine, although it’s not necessary if you balance your diet correctly.
If you want to use essential oils there is an old very effective recipe called “thieves” (http://www.suite101.com/blog/oilsdragon/thieves)
Thieves is a blend of the essential oils of clove, cinnamon, lemon, rosemary and eucalyptus.
Thieves blend has been clinically tested and proven to be more than 99% effective against airborne bacteria (study conducted at Weber State University, 1997). It has been used to treat everything from candida and bacterial infections to toxic mold to colds and flu.
So you can make a balanced blend (equal proportions) of these essential oils and use a drop of it in your salad dressing (ONLY ONE DROP!) or in your breakfast fruit juice (lemon juice is a nice option).
Just make sure these essential oils are from a respected, reliable source, they are 100% pure and of therapeutic-grade. I know they are more expensive than common essential oils but you will use very small quantities and your health is priceless!
