I just finished shaving using a Merkur Progess safety razor and the "Sweedish" Gillette blades. This was the best shave I had till now! The Gillette blades are sharp but very comfortable and forgiving if you make mistakes. I got no nick whatsoever. Multiple passages on the same area were greatly reduced. I must now go to find a cheap source because these blades cost substantially more than the Feathers and BICs. I will also have to try the Derby Extra blades. continued... UPDATE: Wet Shaving ...

I tested some razor blades lately and here are my comments. Merkur platinum are basic blades which are dull IMHO and sometimes one side is sharper than the other. The Nacet blades are cheap Gillette-style blades which are good if you can find them for really cheap. Nothing special though... The Wilkinson white label blades were so bad that I didn't want to complete the shave with them. The Feather blades are infamous for their sharpness. They are sharp but not as ...
